How
do I list a vehicle for sale?
It's
simple.
Just go to the home page, click on the "Sell" button, and you're on your way.
We've designed the site so that it's easy for you to enter the details.
Can I upload a photo of the vehicle?
Yes.
Your photo/image must be in either a .jpg or.gif file format.
Follow the easy instructions to post your vehicle's photo/image as part of your
listing information. You can also add a photo through the 'Modify Listing'
dialog. NOTE: Please make sure the photo image size is close to 72 dpi and no
larger than 4 in. x 6 in. in physical size. Also, make sure the image file name
contains no characters such as commas, pound signs, or dollar signs before the
.jpg or .gif designation.
If I want to change the selling price, or use a new email account, can I modify
the listing?
Yes.
We've made it easy for you to update your user account (i.e., add
an email, change an address, change a phone number), your vehicle listing
(i.e., change the selling price), or remove a listing at any time. Just click
on the "My Account" link to make your updates.
I don't have a "For Sale" sign for my vehicle, what do I do?
There's
a special sharpcar.com "For Sale" promotional sign that ties directly into your
sharpcar.com listing. E-mail us at cservice@sharpcar.com and we'll direct you
to the closest retail location to buy this sign.
How long will my listing appear on sharpcar.com?
From
time to time, we will remove listings over six months old.
What should I do if I sell my vehicle?
In
order to provide sharpcar.com buyers with valid offerings, please delete your
listing as soon as you sell your vehicle. By doing so, you'll also stop e-mails
and phone calls on your already-sold vehicle.

And, the price of the vehicles?

is done to both offer you a price for your vehicle, and determine if you are
interested in purchasing a replacement vehicle. You are not obligated in any

|
| I
created a user account and then created a vehicle listing..but I did not
receive my sharpcar.com ID number. |
Cause
- If a sharpcar.com ID number is not shown to you, the vehicle listing was not
established. Usually, this happens when a character such as a comma, dollar
sign, or pound sign is used in the mileage and asking price fields.
|
Solution
- DO NOT HIT THE BACK BUTTON TO CREATE A NEW VEHICLE LISTING.
Go to the MY ACCOUNT section of the site, enter your user name and password.
You should notice that no vehicle listings have been created. If this is the
case, you should then create a new listing. Remember NOT to use any special
characters in the mileage and asking price fields (in fact, you should not use
any special characters in any fields).
|
| I
have uploaded a photo/image of my vehicle, but it does not appear by my
listing. |
Cause
- Most likely, the filename of the photo/image contains a character such as a
pound sign (#).
|
Solution
- Rename the file using only letters and/or numbers before the .jpg or .gif
designation
|
| When
I try to upload an image of my vehicle, it takes a long time. Then I see a
message that the "scripting has timed out". |
Cause
- The image file is too big.
|
Solution
- Make sure the image resolution is at the lowest setting (usually, it is
described as email or normal resolution), which is 72 dpi. Also, make sure the
physical size of the image is no larger than 5 " x 7". After doing this, not
only will the photo/image upload successfully, it will display quickly to
anyone wishing to view the listing.
|
| Even
though I am sure I am using the right user name and password, I can't get into
my account to make changes or delete a vehicle listing. |
Cause
- You might not realize it, but are using the wrong user name and/or password.
We find that people creating vehicle listings will use a slightly different
user name or password than they recall.
|
Solution
- Go to the sign-in page in the MY ACCOUNT section of the site. Request your
user name and password. When you receive them in an email message simply copy
and paste the user name and passwords into the appropriate fields.
